ELMIA Subcontractor is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Reason enough to launch a new arena for “Sustainability, Material, Research and Technology”, or SMART for short, to discuss the most important innovations for the technical supply industry with regard to circularity, technological innovation, and material disruption.

As a future agency for materials and technology, we are supporting ELMIA Subcontractor for the 12th time since 2013 with current material innovations for the technical supply industry and are presenting more than 40 highly exciting developments as part of the SMART Arena’s Material Lab.

Over the past 50 years, ELMIA Subcontractor has developed into the most important trade fair event for the technical subcontracting industry in Scandinavia. It is one of the leading events for the manufacturing sector in Northern Europe, attracting all large and medium-sized industrial companies from Sweden and neighboring countries to Jönköping for three days.

Visitors can look forward to the following highlights in the SMART Arena’s Material Lab:

• Fungi battery (empa, Switzerland)
• Elastocaloric materials for sustainable cooling solutions (Germany)
• Biocircular road sign made of hemp fibers (The Netherlands)
• Radiation hard bolometer-chips for precise power measurement in fusion reactors (Fraunhofer IMM, Germany)
