The major transformation of economic systems from a linear logic to a concept of circular business models is being accompanied by technological innovation and material disruption. Radical leaps in development in energy supply, mobility, and industrial production are being driven by a multitude of material-based innovations.

Smart technologies promote the great transformation

These range from high-temperature sensors for precise power measurement in fusion reactors, elastocaloric materials for sustainable cooling solutions in industry, to stretchable adaptive textiles with liquid metal pathways for sensory applications.

Dr. Sascha Peters has been invited to present the most important innovations for the technical supply industry and provide an overview of the content of the SMART Arena’s Material Lab. SMART is the name of the new arena for Sustainability, Materials, Research, and Technology, which is celebrating its premiere on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of ELMIA Subcontractor.
