Bio circular packaging innovations

ProSweets Cologne 2024 · Koelnmesse

28 January 2024 and 30 January 2024 each 1:30–1:50 pm

Plastic packaging accounts for much of the world’s waste in rivers; waters and seas. These have significant impacts on animals and the environment. The use of synthetic materials in disposable products and packaging should therefore be significantly reduced in the next few years. Plastic packaging has already been banned for some product areas.

Edible packaging significantly reduces waste

Whether edible packaging made from algae, foams made from mushrooms or biodegradable capsules for powders and liquids: companies in the confectionery industry now have a variety of biocircular packaging materials at their disposal with which they can proactively promote the transformation towards a circular economy.

As part of the Expert Stage program, Hon.-Prof. Dr. On the occasion of ProSweets Cologne 2024, Sascha Peters will present some of the latest biocircular packaging innovations that the agency “Haute Innovation” has put together in the form of a special area.
