Green Materials for Furnitures: Trends and Innovations

There are three major trends in the transformation process towards a sustainable furniture industry. Firstly, there is a need to reduce carbon emissions from the production, delivery and use of furniture. Whether hemp fibers, paper pulp or cellulose-containing agricultural waste: In recent years, numerous material innovations have come onto the market that can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 99%.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle based on green materials
Circularity is the other big trend in the interior and furniture industry. In the future, almost all resources and materials will move in closed cycles and be used again and again. A central aspect in this context are monomaterials, as they support the circularity of the entire process.
In industries where wood plays an important role in the material selection of products, the use of natural and bio-based materials can support the circular economy of interior solutions in general. The avoidance of plastics and composite materials is the third major trend in this context.
At the invitation of the interzum italy team, Dr. Sascha Peters will present some of the most exciting material technology innovations for the green transformation process.
