Advanced materials innovation for the circular economy
Material innovations for the technical supply industry
14–16 November 2023, Jönköping/Sweden
Location: Elmia Subcontractor Trade Show, Jönköping/Sweden
Area: InnoDex, hall D
The realization of a climate-neutral circular economy based on renewable energies is the major goal that Europe has set itself with the Green Deal. In order to ensure the competitiveness of companies, the infrastructure for electromobility and the supply of energy-intensive industries with hydrogen must be set up in the shortest possible time.
In this context, material innovations for the technical supply industry play a decisive role. Whether lightweight materials for logistics systems, wrapped carbon fiber containers for the transport of liquid hydrogen or bipolar plates for hydrolysis processes, the further development of material technologies forms the basis for the entire transformation.
On behalf of the Swedish trade fair Subcontractor, Haute Innovation will curate the special area “Innodex” and present material innovations for the supplier industry in the circular economy.

The Subcontractor is the most important trade fair event for the technical supply industry in Scandinavia. It is one of the leading events for the manufacturing industry in Northern Europe and is the contact point for decision-makers, engineers and designers.
Already confirmed highlights of the special area are:
- Aerogels based on lignin (aerogel it, Germany)
- Hybrid AM electric motor housing with optimized cooling structure (ETH Zurich, Switzerland)
- 3D pressed cellulose composite bicycle saddle (Papershell, Sweden)
- High-pressure hydrogen cylinder made from carbon fibers (Hexagon Purus, Norway), image above
- Rinkoboard: Urban mobility system with foldable design and additively manufactured swing arm (Lennart Bengel, Germany), image below
