The Red Dot Award, organized in Essen, has developed into one of the world’s most renowned awards for good design over the past 60 years. The competition regularly shows that its winners set standards in terms of both quality workmanship and design. On the basis of its composition the international forty-member jury is qualified to evaluate the cross-cultural characteristics and specifics in an excellent manner.

The jury evaluates the large number of entries from all over the world based on criteria such as degree of innovation, formal quality, functionality and ecological compatibility. The best achievements are awarded the “Red Dot” seal of quality. Since 2015 the materials expert and founder of the HAUTE INNOVATION agency, Hon.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters, has been part of the Red Dot jury. He uses his specialist knowledge primarily in the category “materials and surfaces”.
