For several years now, methods for 3D printing of buildings have been under development worldwide that could revolutionize construction as we currently know it. The first mobile 3D printing systems that set up building structures directly on site have been on the market since 2018 – with reduced use of resources and, in some cases, lower costs. Most of the printed buildings are still demonstrations and prototypes. However, with a view to the advantages in terms of flexibility, precision, time and material savings, the experts expect increasing dynamics.

There are still numerous challenges to be overcome in order to transfer additive manufacturing technologies to the construction industry. The end-to-end digitization of all processes involved in construction planning and implementation forms the basis for a successful implementation. In addition, the variety of materials required in the construction industry must be able to be mapped with the additive technologies in the desired quality. Whether concrete, clay, steel, plastic or metal: The development of additive technologies and processable materials are interdependent and the subject of a large number of current development projects at companies and research institutions.

Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH invites players in the construction industry, civil engineers, architects, scientists and interested parties to find out more about the progress, potential and possible uses of 3D printing in construction. The event continues the successful series of events “Material forms Product” and, due to the corona, is being carried out as a purely online event.

Program

13:30
welcome

13:40
introduction
“3D printed buildings – lighthouse projects for a vision of the future of construction”, Hon.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters (Haute Innovation – Zukunftsagentur für Material und Technologie, Berlin)

13:50
KeyNote
“Additive Manufacturing – A digital key technology for the construction industry”, Prof. Dr. Harald Kloft (Institute for Structural Design, TU Braunschweig)

14:30
Session 1: The additive transformation in architecture and construction

“Added value for architecture and construction through additive production processes”, Jörg Petri (BASF 3D Printing Solutions GmbH, Heidelberg)

“Use of 3D printed nodes in metal and facade construction”, Martin Manegold (Imagine Computation, Frankfurt a.M.)

15:30
Session 2: Printed matter in construction – examples for different applications

“AM Bridge – A steel bridge printed on the construction site”, Thilo Feucht (Institute for Steel Construction and Mechanics of Materials IFSW, TU Darmstadt)

“3D sand printed wash basins and design objects”, Laurens Faure (Sandhelden, Gersthoven)

“3D clay printing – special brick solutions from the printer”, Martin Wilfinger (Institute for Statics and Construction, TU Darmstadt)

17:15
Virtual Get together[/vc_column_text][uncode_share layout=”multiple” bigger=”yes” no_back=”yes”][vc_column_text]image: 3D-printed steel bridge over running water – research project “AM Bridge 2019″ of TU Darmstadt (photo: Claus Völker)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ sticky=”yes” width=”5/12″][vc_separator sep_color=”color-458992″ el_height=”3px”][uncode_block id=”100″ inside_column=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

1 December 2020 · Online-Event

With new digital technologies and additive manufacturing processes, construction will significantly change in the future.
