We are close to a major turning point of our material culture, which we owe mainly to petrochemical production processes.<\/p>\n

Natural and bio-based materials and production processes for new product developments and more importantly, the thinking in material cycles has reached the consumer. The presentations are based on new bio plastics grass cellulose and castor oil in equal terms of textiles from the bark of a fig tree or tanning of leather for processing of olive residues. Prof. Richard Meier will present Neptune`s balls, seaweed fibres from the beaches of Sicily and Tunisia, which have high thermal insulation and natural flame retardancy. Looking forward to discussions on a new material culture.<\/p>\n
