This will change over the next few years as many companies will be forced to significantly reduce their carbon footprint. In innovative composites and hybrids, natural materials such as bamboo, rattan, flax and cellulose fibers offer outstanding qualities that promote their use as design materials in industrial products.

14 November 2018, 13:00
“Material Innovation for a Circular Economy“, Dr. Sascha Peters, Haute Innovation, Germany

The circular economy will become an ideal conception for the management and handling of our existing materials in the 21st century. Much effort needs to be done to achieve the goal of transforming today’s linear process into a circular concept while promoting product and technology innovation at the same time. In his lecture, Dr. Sascha Peters will present the latest material innovations that can have a positive effect on the design of a circular economy.

15. November 2017, 13.30
“3D-Printing of Spare Parts“, Dr. Sascha Peters, Haute Innovation, Germany

The use of additive manufacturing processes to provide spare parts in the vehicle industry and other area is currently the subject of intense discussion. The additive techniques are not only an interesting option for classic vehicles, for which spare parts are no longer available. This would eliminate the manufacturer’s need to stock spare parts. In August 2017, Mercedes Benz Truck announced the successful additive production of the spare part for a thermostat cover for older series trucks. In aerospace experts expect a positive cost effect through the transformation of spare parts logistics toward ‘on demand’ supply.

16. November 2017, 10.30
“Graphen based Innovation“, Dr. Sascha Peters, Haute Innovation, Germany

Graphene is the world’s first man-made two-dimensional material. The extreme strength, its high electrical conductivity and the transparent appearance make it a wonder material for a variety of applications, from aircraft over sports equipment to batteries and computer chips. But since the discovery in 2004, the material, which consists of only one layer of carbon atoms, has not prevailed. One of the main reasons is the lack of technologies to produce graphene cheaply and in large quantities. Nevertheless, graphene applications is the future. In the lecture Dr. Sascha Peters will present the previous applications for graphene.

www.elmia.se[/vc_column_text][uncode_share layout=”multiple” bigger=”yes” no_back=”yes”][vc_column_text]image: material from wine residues (source: Katharina Hölz, Trier)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ sticky=”yes” width=”5/12″][vc_separator sep_color=”color-458992″ el_height=”3px”][uncode_block id=”100″ inside_column=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

13-16 November 2018 · Jönköping/Sweden

Graphene is the world’s first man-made two-dimensional material.
