The fibers are flexible and highly resistant under tensile stress, bamboo is not a tree but grass, which can grow with up to one meter per day. For centuries bamboo has been used as a sustainable, ubiquitous, and inexpensive construction and building material, primarily in Asia. With the help of a patented process of production it is possible to produce bamboo tubes with industrial precision.<\/p>\n

Bamboo for vehicle construction<\/h3>\n

Diameter, thickness, and length of the bamboo elements allow the application as a constructive component. Commissioned static load tests have proven that our bamboo elements outperform comparable aluminum tubes, which make them a viable sustainable alternative in a lot of applications where metal constructions are still state of the art. Joined with 3D-printed structures the bamboo elements become boards, blockboards, doors, countertops, intermediate ceilings\u2014almost anything which is usually made from wood, metal, or even concrete.<\/p>\n

While the natural resistance against tensile force is maintained, the resistance of our bamboo elements against bending could even be increased beyond the characteristics of natural bamboo. When joined to form honeycomb structures our bamboo elements become boards, blockboards, doors, countertops, intermediate ceilings\u2014almost anything which is usually made from wood, metal, or even concrete. Further applications of the elements can be found in architecture, building, dry construction, bearing structure, interior design, furniture, vehicles, and wherever sturdy constructions are needed.<\/p>\n
