This is being driven by the introduction of circular business models, especially in the interior design industries. In furniture manufacturing, we see particular opportunities in the redesign of product groups and the simultaneous establishment of a new understanding of materiality.<\/p>\n

Plastic-free materials for furniture production<\/h3>\n

Companies must assume responsibility for the resources they use and establish a new economic logic in harmony with nature. A new generation of “biocircular materials” is currently entering the market and offers diverse solutions to some of the greatest challenges of our time.<\/p>\n

Whether plastic-free solutions for upholstered furniture, cement-free binders for mineral materials, or fast-growing fiber materials for wood substitutes: Biocircular materials not only offer options for significantly reducing carbon emissions, they also help close product cycles and open up innovative business areas in the furniture and interior design industry in a very “friendly” way.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”13621″ media_width_percent=”100″ uncode_shortcode_id=”827676″][vc_single_image media=”13623″ media_width_percent=”100″ uncode_shortcode_id=”379182″][vc_column_text text_lead=”yes” uncode_shortcode_id=”188359″]With a special area on “Biocircular Materials”, we are promoting the transformation process toward a circular industry for furniture manufacturing and interior design, particularly highlighting developments from the biological cycle.<\/p>\n

The current range of innovations in this field is enormous. Material manufacturers are primarily using secondary materials from agricultural and food industry waste streams for their developments. An adhesive based on chicken feathers<\/a>, filling materials made from fruit kernels, and 3D-printed furniture made from orange peels are just a few exciting exhibits that demonstrate this trend.<\/p>\n
