In addition, a comprehensive understanding of the digital transformation is necessary in order to develop sustainable strategies.<\/p>\n

Sustainable Design as a basis of the transformation<\/h3>\n

The transition to a sustainable furniture industry is supported by collaboration with research institutions, universities and start-ups that develop innovative materials and production processes. These new players bring fresh knowledge and technological solutions to the furniture industry ecosystem.<\/p>\n

By cooperating with science and research, established companies are able to promote sustainable innovations and revolutionize their production methods. In a talk moderated by Jonathan Radetz<\/a> , different actors share their views:<\/p>\n

ARPER (furniture company from Italy) is committed to sustainability at every stage of production. A standout product, Catifa Carta<\/a>, exemplifies this approach by using eco-friendly materials and reducing waste through advanced, sustainable manufacturing processes. Arper`s<\/a> timeless design is intended to leave only a minimal ecological footprint.<\/p>\n

Brokis (lighting company from the Czech Republic) is at the forefront of sustainable design in lighting. Their approach includes using energy-efficient technologies, responsibly sourced materials, and ensuring long product life cycles. Brokis<\/a> focuses on reducing energy consumption and minimizing environmental impact.<\/p>\n

The future agency Haute Innovation from Berlin is investigating the influence of sustainable materials on the development of circular business models in design. This year it is responsible for the special area “Circular Biomaterials<\/a>” in hall 4.2 of Orgatec and is presenting the potential of new material worlds to reduce the ecological footprint at the interfaces between design and biology.<\/p>\n
