A Series of Events „Material shapes product“ Network Activities to shorten material based Innovation Processes

Client: Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport, Urban and Regional Development

With the series of events „Material shapes product“, the ministry for Commerce and Industry of Hessen, would like to show the potential of nano technology. They’d like the designers, users, material developers and product specialists to work closer together. The first event was the opening conference in Offenbach on the 24th of June 2010 and the last event was Material Vision in Frankfurt am Main on the 24th of May 2011. In the evening events were several special Themes discussed.

Innovative material is really trendy. That shows not only just the many libraries, networks and exhibitions (like Material Vision 24. -26.05.2011), which have developed themselves successfully to this theme for the last couple of years. Before you had to develop material with a particular functionality for edging new products, nowadays it seems like that the material that we already have could make nearly anything technologically possible. This takes the consequence into a new way of thinking of innovation. As of today the successful innovation process might not be there, but it isn’t the technological mind as a functional quality. Instead it’s a new, fast transfer for a process into a market product.

Some of our co-partners for the series of events were:
- Messe Frankfurt
- Hessen Design e.V.
- Verband der deutschen Industriedesigner (VDID)
