Red Dot Award Product Design 2015

The Red Dot Award event organized in Essen has been developing in the past 60 years into one of most renowned competitions for good design. The competition is a reliable sign for the fact that the prizewinners set standards both in terms of qualitative workmanship and designing and presentation. On the basis of its composition the international forty-member jury is qualified to evaluate the cross-cultural characteristics and specifics in an excellent manner.

The jury evaluates the multitude of submissions from all over the world by the criteria of level on innovativeness, quality of shape, functionality and ecological compatibility. The best performances will be awarded the quality seal “Red Dot”. Until February 11, 2015 both brands with a worldwide reputation and big corporations as well as small to medium-sized companies and advertising agencies are invited to face up to an international competition. The 2015 event is characterized by 31 categories where manufacturers and designers can present their industrial products. Among the new categories figure the following ones: “Materials and Surfaces”, “Watches” and “Bicycles and Bicycle accessories”.

This year Dr. Sascha Peters, a material expert and founder of the Haute Innovation agency will be a member of the Red Dot jury for the first time. He will contribute his expertise first of all to the new product category “Materials and Surfaces”.
