Retro Reflection for Architecture

41/2010

High-density reflective concrete with satin glass beads Blingcrete is a new type of concrete with a surface that reflects light. it combines the positive properties of concrete (resistance to fire, strength, methods of construction) with the property of retro-reflection when struck by light radiation. This effect is achieved through the inclusion of glass microspheres on the surface of the material. The prefabricated slabs thus obtained are suitable for making signs with less invasive graphics than conventional metal signs (stairs, tunnels, etc.,) or three- dimensional lighting integrated into parts of buildings (floors, ceilings, facades). The market launch is expected by 2011.
